Black Magic Bag

Here’s a classy little bag which is also quick and easy to make! The design features a princess cut base and double flaps which fold over each side of the bag. Two kits are available: the first includes the black rose fabric, black etched rose button, lining and two magnetic clips as well as the pattern; the second kit is available in Hangzhou Chinese Silks with dragonfly charms.
Kits also included enough fabric for a hand or shoulder length handle.

Slim Line Shopping Bag

This stylish slim line bag with clean cut lines is affectionately nicknamed the "Panda Tote" in-house at Chandlers Cottage! It was designed by Amanda Davidson to show off the stunning fabric in the original sample shown on the left. Amanda is often called Panda and it's not just a slip of the tongue, she designs and makes the most divine Panda bears, and is guilty of being drawn to all things beautiful that are black and white on more than one occasion! You'll see some of her gorgeous bears in our Gallery from the Spring Quilt show last year. The bag design is very practical and it's slim sides make it easy to find things in, especially with the set in interior pockets. It's also perfect for showing off beautiful large prints such as many of our Orientals. You know, those ones you just can't bring yourself to cut up!

Hexagonal Kimono Bag

Features Kimono with 3D sleeves, Obi & Gown, Oriental Fans and paper pieced hexagons on the reverse. The bag's structure comes from template plastic in the panels.

Kit contains all materials except for the template plastic and tassel .

Pattern includes instructions for making 3D Bamboo Leaves from fabric.
Kits as shown including pattern features a Hoffman Mandarin Dynasty bamboo print, with Japanese black muslin, gold fairy frost and a Perspex bag base

Oriental Cherry Blossom Bag

This design has been given a fresh new look with this lovely kit containing Quiltgate fabrics, batiks and fairy frost. This is an excellent design for learning how to make 3D flowers, cherry blossoms and paper pieced butterflies.
Kit contains all materials except for optional tassel on lid and template plastic to reinforce panels.

Colourwash Kimono Bag

This lovely shoulder length bag was inspired by an original design by my friend Jennifer Saynor-Locke. Featuring a little Kimono Gown, with a colourwash of squares on either side and embellished with 3D star flowers. It makes a lovely weekend project, and you will find it a perfect medium to also show off some Shisiko stitching or machine quilting.

The cutest little number, with lots of interesting little blocks. If you like an Oriental print, primarily for it's colours, then this is the perfect pattern. You can fussy cut different sections from the fabric, for different parts of the bag and create the illusion they have all been cut from different fabrics! Make an every day one in blues, or an evening bag with silks, metallics and add some beading and charms.

The name is no joke, Japanese students really do take their lunches to school in small cloth bags just like this one! This little drawstring bag is very versatile and quick and easy to make.
